This wedding will forever be in my heart. The owner of Colette in Paris and one of music industries best directors asked me to create an unforgettable Woodstock weekend and wedding for 100 of their closets friends. It was an honor working with these exceptionally talented and creative visionaries. We worked together from all around the world for a fast and fabulous 4 months to create a weekend of wonderment in Woodstock, New York. We started with an Americana country rehearsal dinner by the lake in honor of the groom as he was raised in New York. We created custom welcome bags filled with goodies from Colette, made red gingham picnic blankets and set up lounges made of hay, brought in ping pong tables, served lobster rolls, brisket sliders and tasty french fries, set up an outdoor movie theater and had Magnolia cupcakes for desert… and this was just the rehearsal dinner. I even brought my 1950 Chevy pick up for a fun prop for the desert bar.
On Saturday morning we had 4 different buses going to 4 different excursions for all our guest to choose from, including hiking, kayaking, yoga, or a private showing of a movie. We custom designed the logos for all the buses and prepared little box lunches for their day of fun. Not a bad way to start the day.
Later that evening private buses picked up all of our guest and brought them to the magical ceremony site perched on a mountain overlooking the Sawkill creek. As you walked down a candle lit path to cocktail hour you found yourself in a wonderland of 2 to 3 story interactive balloon art installations we had flown in that were created by Rainbow City. Cuccina of Woodstock wowed our guests with fresh farm to table cuisine cooked table side. We dressed two 100 foot long tables with hundreds of candles, sweet white flowers, green herbs, and custom designed heart filled napkins. Dinner was served by candlelight under the stars… truly dramatic. For desert we had macaroons from Laduree to surprise all of our Parisian guests. After dinner guests walked through a field with bonfires lit to light the way, to arrive at a dance floor under the stars and a mushroom shape bouncy house to play the night away. Truly a Woodstock Wonderland. Last but not least, photographer Todd Selby snapped some great shots for us all to remember this incredible weekend.
